Patagonia / Clothing
Outdoor explorations require a waterproof parka or windbreaker;
loose-fitting pants; long underwear (and a warm sweater or fleece
is advisable due to changing climatic conditions); hiking boots
or good walking shoes with a rubber sole (we recommend that
shoes be waterproof); gloves; hat; sunglasses; sunscreen, lip
protection, sneakers. At the hotel, guests may dress for comfort.
The hotel maintains an agreeable temperature inside, the reason
why we recommend that guests wear casual, light clothing while
indoors.
Climate
One of the surprises at Torres del Paine National
park is its weather. It is mild due to its close proximity to
the sea, with many sunny days a year. It is outstanding for
the succession of varied characteristics and light throughout
the year. It has an exciting and attractive climate. You can
find all four seasons in one day, with a changing sky that adds
drama to the view.
There is a low amount of rain precipitation (approximately 700
mm, or 27,2 inches), evenly spread throughout the year.
Summer (January to March) is characterized by the west wind,
and winter (July to September) has very few seasonal storms
along with many absolutely radiant sunny days.Snowfall creates
an opportunity for increased wildlife sightings, as puma and
other animals make their way from the mountains to the pampas.
Spring (October to December) displays the fruitfulness of flora
and fauna, and summer has vitality and energy of its own: fall
(April to June) brings spectacular colors to the forest and
landscapes. Horseback rides or walks at this time of the year
are particularly attractive. Natures wonders unfold in Patagonia
every day of the year.
